Treeninglaager

Põhjala's hypotonic non-alcoholic lager, made in collaboration with Estonian Olympic sprinter Rasmus Mägi and designed with electrolyte balance in mind.

About This Drink

The name means "training lager" in Estonian, and it does what it says. Põhjala developed this with Olympic track and field athlete Rasmus Mägi, formulating it as a hypotonic drink with an electrolyte profile for post-exercise use. The hop combination of Tettnang, Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Magnum gives it 20 IBU. The aroma is where Treeninglaager sets itself apart from a standard non-alcoholic lager: lime peel, lemongrass and something almost like spruce needles sit over a soft malt base. There's a streak of minerality on the palate that's unusual for the style. Malt sweetness comes first, then that mineral quality cuts through, and the bitterness arrives clean at the back. Contains lactose and barley.
