Out Of Nowhere
A 0.5% West Coast Pilsner brewed with Mash Gang, dry-hopped with Citra, Idaho7, and Nelson Sauvin for fruit-cocktail aromatics.
About This Drink
Out of Nowhere landed alongside Call of the Void in January 2024, marking Siren's entry into low-alcohol brewing. The brief was a West Coast Pils — clean, crisp, bitterness-forward — and the Mash Gang collaboration brought the technical know-how to pull it off at 0.5%. The grain bill is a traditional German lager base, which keeps things neutral and lets the dry hop do the talking. Citra, Idaho7, and Nelson Sauvin together produce what the brewery describes as fruit cocktail aromas: pineapple, peach, and white grape. They are not wrong. The nose is genuinely expressive for a low-alcohol lager, and the bitterness snaps through the palate in a way that reads as West Coast rather than mass-market. Body is light, as you would expect, but the hop character carries it. It is a solid result in a category where most 0.5% lagers taste either generic or over-engineered. Out of Nowhere leans on good ingredients and a clear style brief rather than flavour corrections. Vegan friendly. Contains gluten.
