St Omer Shandy follows the French panaché tradition, in which a higher proportion of lemonade to lager distinguishes it from the British shandy style. Brasserie de Saint-Omer has been operating on the same northern French site since 1866, drawing its brewing water from on-site wells directly beneath the facility. At under 0.5% ABV, it qualifies as a low-alcohol drink within the panaché category.
