Galipette
Galipette is a French cider brand from Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany, produced by the cider makers' cooperative Les Celliers Associés, with an alcohol-free lineup launched in 2019.
The brand was brought to market in 2017 by Cider Mill, an Estonian-based company, drawing on Les Celliers Associés' long-standing tradition of cider production in northwest France. Galipette follows the French Pur Jus standard: no added water, no added sugar, and juice pressed exclusively from whole apples rather than concentrate. The name comes from the French word for somersault, evoking the seasonal rhythm of the orchard year.
The alcohol-free range uses arrested fermentation: the process is stopped early, before alcohol develops, so the apple's natural sugars and full flavour are preserved in the finished drink. Galipette entered the AF space in 2019, adding the alcohol-free lineup as an extension of an established cider range. Both AF ciders adhere to the same pure-juice Pur Jus commitment as the full-strength line. The rosé variant is made from Pommes à Chair Rouge, a rare red-fleshed apple variety that provides the cider's natural colour without added colouring. The AF range sits in the premium bracket and is available through specialist alcohol-free retailers as well as mainstream supermarket channels.
Galipette distributes internationally across Europe, North America, and Asia. The combination of cooperative production heritage, Pur Jus production standards, and broad international distribution makes Galipette one of the more globally visible French AF ciders currently available.
