Sea Change
Sea Change is an independent family wine business founded in 2018 by Simon Rolfe and Ian Hanley in the Treviso region of Veneto, Northern Italy, producing alcohol-free sparkling wine alongside its wider range.
The brand traces its origins to a conversation that year about the impact of plastic on oceans, which shaped both its approach to sustainability and its model of ocean conservation. Sea Change operates as a social enterprise, directing a minimum of 25 cents from every bottle sold to marine wildlife charities. Since founding, it has donated a total of €500,000 to those causes.
Its alcohol-free sparkling wine is made by an artisan winery in the Prosecco region of Northern Italy, using fresh Glera grape must obtained immediately after pressing. The production method keeps the must in cold preservation at four degrees so that fermentation never starts, leaving the juice in its natural, unfermented state rather than first making a wine and then removing the alcohol.
The range is positioned for Dry January and Sober October participants. Packaging carries the same environmental commitment: labels are made partly from grape waste and sourced from forests certified under the FSC standard, and bottles carry no plastic wrap on the neck.
