Casillero Del Diablo

Casillero del Diablo is a Chilean wine brand founded in 1883 by Don Melchor de Concha y Toro, now owned by Viña Concha y Toro, one of the world's largest wine producers. The brand's name translates as 'Cellar of the Devil', a reference to a legend the founder spread to deter thieves from his private cellar. Casillero del Diablo has a presence in more than 140 countries and is widely regarded as Chile's most internationally recognised wine label.

The brand entered the alcohol-free category in 2022 with the launch of its Belief range, covering still wine styles. In 2024, Casillero del Diablo expanded its AF lineup with an alcohol-free sparkling wine, bringing a celebratory format into the range. The sparkling variant is produced using a spinning cone column, a low-temperature method of separating alcohol from the finished wine while preserving as much aromatic and structural character as possible. Production method matters considerably to the result in this category, and the spinning cone approach is one of the more preservation-focused options available.

The alcohol-free range is positioned for sober-curious drinkers who want a recognisable, mainstream wine brand in their glass. Casillero del Diablo's scale and existing retail presence means the sparkling variant reached mainstream distribution relatively quickly since its 2024 launch. The brand also holds a long-standing partnership with Manchester United Football Club, dating to 2010, which has kept it visible across sports and entertainment audiences well beyond the wine aisle.

The alcohol-free range remains small compared to the full Casillero del Diablo portfolio, but the 2024 sparkling launch signals a continued commitment to the category rather than a one-off trial.
