Burton Road Brewing
Burton Road Brewing Co. is a small independent brewery that started as a hobby project in 2015, named after the stretch of road in West Didsbury, Manchester where the founders used to live and drink. It began with contract brewing at Alphabet Brewing Co., then expanded to Mobberley Brewhouse as the range grew. The ambition is to eventually brew from Burton Road itself, though the business has grown primarily through an online direct-to-consumer model rather than bricks and mortar.
The core range covers familiar craft beer territory: a pilsner, a citra pale, a west coast IPA, a best bitter. The beers are honest, well-made, and priced accessibly. Nothing flashy, which suits the brewery's character.
Their alcohol-free range is a genuine part of the offering rather than an afterthought. The Non is a 0.0% pale ale, tropical-hopped and light-bodied. Fantastic is a 0.0% lager that came out of a collaboration with Manchester community project Withington Walls and local artist Oskar with a K, who approached the brewery as a non-drinker wanting a beer that worked for him. Both are vegan-friendly.
Burton Road is a neighbourhood brewery in the best sense: modest in scale, community-minded, and building something over time without the pressure of investor money behind it.
