Maiden Mill is a Somerset-based brand founded by three local entrepreneurs with one very specific aim: to make cider with no alcohol. They position themselves as the world's first brand dedicated solely to alcohol-free cider, which is a reasonable claim given how crowded the beer and spirits side of the market has become compared to cider alternatives.
The production stays local by design. From apple growing through to bottling and dispatch, the entire process happens within a 25-mile radius of the Somerset operation. The ciders blend higher-ABV base cider with other ingredients to bring the ABV below 0.5%, preserving tannin structure and mouthfeel rather than producing something thin and watery.
The range runs to two products, both at 0.5% ABV. The Voyage is a golden medium cider with sweet green apple notes. The Flyer is a cloudy medium-dry with a crisper, more satisfying finish. Both are gluten-free, vegan, and low-calorie. The naming follows a "maiden voyage/flight" theme, which ties into the brand's positioning as a first-of-its-kind proposition.
