Adriatico

The brand was created by Jean-Robert Bellanger, who drew inspiration from his Italian mother's tiramisu recipe. Two years of recipe development preceded the launch, with production rooted in the almond-growing region of Puglia. The process involves hand-picking Filippo Cea almonds, slow-roasting them for hours, then macerating and distilling to extract the character of the nut. The resulting distillate is blended with cane sugar at roughly half the concentration used in traditional amaretto, alongside vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa, coffee, and a pinch of sea salt from Margherita di Savoia. The reduced sugar level is a deliberate production decision: it allows the toasted almond character to carry the drink rather than sweetness doing all the work.

The alcoholic range includes Adriatico Roasted, the flagship at 28% ABV, and Adriatico Bianco, a white amaretto made with almond milk rather than dark-roasted nuts. The 0.0% Amaretto Zero uses the same Puglia almond distillate as the Roasted variant, with the alcohol absent. That continuity of raw material between the alcoholic and AF versions is an honest claim: the 0.0% product is not a separate formulation but an extension of the same production logic.

Adriatico is owned by Bellaventura Brands. The AF variant is available through specialist online retailers and the brand's own site, and sits at the premium end of the alcohol-free spirits category. For moderators and sober-curious drinkers, the distillation-based method gives the 0.0% more grip and complexity than formulations built from botanical extracts or flavourings alone.
