Adriatico
Adriatico is an Italian amaretto brand, founded in 2019 by Jean-Robert Bellanger and Thomas Benoit, built around what they describe as a new generation of the liqueur, with all production based in Puglia in southern Italy.
The Filippo Cea almonds that go into every Adriatico product are hand-picked from Puglia. They are slow-roasted for hours before being macerated and distilled, and the brand spent two years refining this process before settling on its final recipe. The formula uses 100% natural ingredients, sweetened with raw cane sugar and finished with a pinch of sea salt from the Margherita di Savoia salt flats on the Adriatic coast. The brand is owned by Bellaventura S.A.
Adriatico's range spans both amaretto liqueurs and an alcohol-free version of its roasted and salted almond amaretto, produced and bottled in Puglia. The alcohol-free product uses a distillate of Filippo Cea almonds from Puglia, the same nut that forms the base of the wider range, with raw cane sugar and Adriatic sea salt completing the recipe. One drink in the range has picked up awards. The alcohol-free product is positioned in part for Dry January drinkers, and the brand sells across multiple channels.
