Aetos

Viña de Aguirre was founded by Pedro Félix de Aguirre and Ana María Etcheberry, and the winery has remained 100% family-owned since its establishment. The Aetos name comes from the Greek word for eagle, a reference to the birds that circle above the vineyards in this southern Chilean valley. Sustainability is a stated commitment at Viña de Aguirre: the winery emphasises sustainable agricultural practices and the active protection of the natural environment surrounding its Maule Valley vineyards.

The Gentle Sensation wines are produced at 0.0% using a spinning cone column process: a low-temperature technique in which the finished wine is spun under reduced pressure to separate the alcohol from the liquid, preserving the fruit aromas that would otherwise be affected by higher-temperature dealcoholisation methods. The resulting range covers still wine formats across different grape varieties, suited to sober-curious wine drinkers who want the flavour character associated with Chilean still wine without the alcohol.

Distribution is through specialist alcohol-free retailers. The brand is produced by a winery with deep roots in the Maule Valley, giving the AF range a producer story more grounded in viticulture than is common in the alcohol-free wine category.
