Amundsen Brewery is a Norwegian craft beer brand founded in Oslo in 2011 by Geoffrey van Vuuren, producing an extensive alcohol-free range spanning lagers, IPAs, sours, and pastry stouts.

Van Vuuren established the brewery, which has since grown into the largest independent craft brewery in Oslo. The AF lineup is one of the more comprehensive produced by a single craft brewery, extending from lagers and fruit-forward sours through to the Dessert In A Can series: an internationally recognised line of pastry stouts that are thick, sweet, and decadent. An alcohol-free version of the Dessert In A Can series extends alongside the wider AF range, bringing the same richness to beers that produce very little alcohol.

The technical approach behind Amundsen's AF output is central to the brand's identity: the brewery uses a specific yeast strain that cannot ferment maltose, the primary sugar found in beer wort. Rather than producing alcohol at normal levels and stripping it out afterwards, the yeast leaves residual sugars in the finished beer, which contribute to the body and mouthfeel characteristic of the pastry stout format. This method is applied across the AF range, not only to the stout variants.

Sober-curious drinkers who want something substantially different from the standard AF lager or pale ale are the natural audience for Amundsen's range. The breadth of styles, from lagers through to fruit-forward sours and indulgent pastry stouts, gives the AF lineup a scope that few craft breweries attempt at any price point. Amundsen distributes internationally through specialist alcohol-free retailers, with the brand sitting in the premium bracket.
