Ariel Vineyards is a California alcohol-removed wine range, founded in 1985 when quality alcohol-free wines were nearly impossible to find.

Named after the ethereal spirit in Shakespeare's The Tempest, Ariel was created by Jerry Lohr and sits within J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines. Grapes are grown on Certified California Sustainable estate vineyards in Monterey County and Paso Robles. The wines are fermented and barrel aged before the alcohol is removed through reverse osmosis, a process in which the wine passes through fine membranes to extract the alcohol. Lohr's winemakers developed a patented double reverse osmosis and cold filtration technique for this.

Ariel is the pioneer of premium alcohol-removed wines, a position traced to its 1985 origins. The range covers red and white wines made from sustainably farmed estate grapes from California's Central Coast.

The brand is distributed nationally across the United States, with online orders available for shipping to all 50 states, and it also serves international markets. Its broad retail and direct-sales footprint places it within reach of sober-curious drinkers worldwide.
