Astoria
Astoria is an Italian sparkling wine producer founded in 1987 by Paolo and Giorgio Polegato in Refrontolo, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, with a 0.0% sparkling grape juice in its range alongside the core wine portfolio.
The Val de Brun Estate in Refrontolo sits in the heart of the DOCG Conegliano-Valdobbiadene appellation in north-east Italy, a recognised production zone for Prosecco. Astoria is the largest private winemaker within this appellation, a distinction held across nearly four decades of production. The business is family-owned, now led by second-generation Filippo Polegato, and distributes its wines across more than 100 countries. The brand is also recognisable for its distinctive bottle designs, including a faceted Venetian-style format.
Astoria's AF offering, Zerotondo Sparkling, sits entirely outside the dealcoholised wine category. It is made from 100% organic white grape juice that is cold-pressed, filtered, and held in refrigerated tanks specifically to prevent any fermentation from occurring. The result is a non-alcoholic sparkling juice rather than a wine from which alcohol has been removed. The product is positioned for those who want a celebratory format without alcohol, and is available through specialist alcohol-free retailers.
Astoria has a long association with professional cycling, having served as the official wine partner of the Giro d'Italia for over a decade, a connection that brings the brand natural visibility with fitness-focused audiences. Zerotondo's organic certification and its distinction from fermented products give it a specific identity within what is otherwise a conventional sparkling wine portfolio.
