Atopia
Atopia is a premium alcohol-free spirits brand launched in London, made by master distiller Lesley Gracie, who also conceived Hendrick's Gin.
Gracie built the range around a copper pot still process: botanicals are batch-distilled first, and more delicate flavours are infused in a later stage. The foundation of each spirit is a natural distillate of orange, juniper, coriander, angelica root and lemon, with further botanical extracts and natural flavours blended in afterwards. Distillation, botanical flavour extraction and blending together take around six weeks to complete.
Despite sharing some botanical characteristics with gin, Atopia is not a gin. It sits outside the gin category, making spirits from natural distillates, extracts and flavours. At 0.5% ABV, the brand describes its approach as ultra-low alcohol rather than fully alcohol-free, making it well-suited to sober-curious drinkers looking for depth and complexity in spirit form.
The range covers botanical spirits across a variety of fruit and floral profiles, and two of the brand's drinks have picked up awards. Atopia is produced by William Grant and Sons and sits in the premium segment, available through multiple retail channels including the brand's own website.
