Brut Dargent is a French sparkling wine brand founded in 1981 by the Maison de Vignerons de l'Ardeche, now owned by Les Grands Chais de France and recognised as one of the leading French sparkling wine labels in the world.

The brand built its reputation over four decades on sparkling wines made using the traditional method, in which a second fermentation inside the sealed bottle creates the drink's carbonation. Since its founding, Brut Dargent has grown into a widely distributed name in the French sparkling wine category, carrying a global retail footprint across mainstream and specialist channels. Its alcohol-free range, marketed under the Brut Dargent Free label, extends that heritage into the growing AF sparkling wine category and is aimed at sober-curious drinkers who want a recognisably wine-like sparkling option.

The Free range is dealcoholised: the wines are made at full strength before the alcohol is removed using vacuum distillation at low temperature, a process that operates at reduced pressure to protect the wine's natural aromas rather than driving them off with heat. That production approach, drawing on Brut Dargent's long familiarity with sparkling wine, gives the Free range a credible foundation within the AF sparkling category.

Distribution of the Free range is currently narrow, available through specialist online channels rather than the brand's mainstream retail network. Pricing sits in the premium bracket relative to other AF sparkling wines, reflecting the production costs of dealcoholisation.
