Chance
Chance is the United Kingdom's first brand dedicated exclusively to alcohol-free cider, founded in the second half of 2024 by John Logue after two decades in the drinks industry.
Logue founded Chance out of frustration that alcohol-free cider had not reached the standard achieved by alcohol-free beer. The brand is produced in Worcestershire, within the British Cider Triangle, in partnership with Aston Manor, a traditional cider-making company. The production method is liquoring down: the cider is brewed to a full 8.2% ABV and then reduced through a balanced process to 0.5%, keeping the approach rooted in conventional fermentation.
All apples come from British farmers in Worcestershire and include traditional varieties such as Dabinett, Michelin, Vicky, and Fiona. Sourcing is 100% British throughout, with every apple grown within the United Kingdom.
Chance is independently owned and founder-led. To establish the brand, Logue raised over £200,000 through a SEIS funding round. Distribution has grown to more than 700 bars and venues. The brand's partnership with Alcohol Change UK connects it to Dry January, making it a visible option for those choosing to go alcohol-free during the campaign and throughout the year.
