The connection to the Whiteways orchard, which at its height claimed the largest cider apple orchards in the world, gives Courtney's an unusual historical grounding for a small Devon producer. The family who farm it today manage over 450 trees without sprays or fertilisers. All apples are hand-picked and pressed on site. Fermentation uses only the wild yeasts naturally present on the apple skins, rather than added cultured strains, with no sulphites in the process. This approach draws on the yeasts the orchard itself provides, giving the ciders a character tied directly to the fruit and the site. The juice is 100% apple with no concentrate. Blending, carbonation and bottling take place at Devon Drinks Solutions in Dunkeswell, keeping the whole process within Devon.

The core range covers traditional ciders and fruit varieties alongside gin and rum products. The low-alcohol offering is a 0.5% ABV medium cider from Devon apples, made using the same no-concentrate, no-additives approach as the full-strength range. At 21 calories per 100ml and certified gluten-free and vegan, it sits at the lower-calorie end of the AF cider field. The 0.5% figure places it in the low-alcohol band rather than strictly alcohol-free, a distinction worth noting for weeknight drinkers managing their intake carefully.
