Crafty Devil Brewing is a Cardiff independent microbrewery founded in 2014 by Rhys Watkins and Adam Edinborough, with an alcohol-free beer range added in 2021 to sit alongside its main craft output.

The brewery started in a garden shed in 2014 before moving to a commercial unit in Canton, Cardiff, a trajectory that has become central to its identity as an independent craft producer. Crafty Devil's brand character draws on American craft beer culture and the founders' love of blues and rock music, giving the brewery a tone that is deliberately informal and personality-led. The operation now includes taproom and bottle-shop venues in the city, with a cellar bar in Canton and a shop in Penarth forming the brand's physical presence in Cardiff.

The alcohol-free range centres on a 0.5% ABV pale ale launched in 2021 to extend the hop-forward character of the core craft range into AF territory. The pale ale format is well-suited to Crafty Devil's hop-led brewing style, and the choice reflects a preference for bringing existing craft technique into the alcohol-free category rather than producing a separate, purpose-built AF product. At 0.5% ABV, the beer sits within the legal definition of alcohol-free used across many markets, a threshold shared by a number of well-regarded craft AF producers.

Distribution is focused on specialist independent retailers and direct-to-consumer sales through the brand's own webshop, consistent with the scale and philosophy of an independent microbrewery. Crafty Devil's identity rests primarily on its role as a Cardiff craft institution rather than as an alcohol-free specialist, and the AF range is a focused, single-product offering that complements rather than defines it.
