Born Free Pale Ale is Crafty Devil's first alcohol-free beer, first brewed at the Cardiff brewery in November 2025. The team held it back until they were sure it would hold up in the real world, and pasteurisation, heating the finished beer to keep it stable, turned out to be the most important step. It is built around Motueka hops, which give a big aroma of citrus, tropical and stone fruit. In the glass it is hazy, somewhere between golden and light amber, under a frothy head. The taste is hoppy and juicy with a clean bitterness, while the body stays soft and the finish crisp. It is meant to feel like a real Crafty Devil beer that just happens to be alcohol-free.
