Cranes is a Cambridgeshire cider brand with an alcohol-free and low-alcohol range, founded by twin brothers Dan and Ben after noticing how much sugar was packed into popular fruit ciders during their university days. The two later reunited, combined what they had each discovered, and started fermenting a cranberry cider at home in five-litre demijohns.

The name comes from "Crane-berries", the original word for cranberries, because the plant's blossom was said to resemble a crane's head. After eight months of developing the recipe, the brothers established a micro-brewery, which flooded after seven months and moved to a friend's farm in Cambridgeshire, where the operation is still based.

Cranes uses only real fruit and natural ingredients, drawing on cranberries, apples, pomegranates, limes, and blueberries. The alcohol-free range includes a cider made with kombucha-style fermentation, a process that applies live-culture techniques, familiar from fermented tea, to a fruit cider base. Alongside the alcohol-free and low-alcohol ciders, Cranes also produces alcoholic ciders, gin, and liqueur. The No and Low Alcohol range suits sober-curious drinkers and those reducing their intake. Over 95% of the packaging is recyclable.
