Dead Man's Fingers
Dead Man's Fingers is a Cornish rum brand founded in 2015 at the Rum and Crab Shack in St Ives, acquired by Halewood Artisanal Spirits in 2018 and expanded into alcohol-free spirits in early 2022.
The brand name comes from the colloquial term for the finger-like gills found inside a crab, a direct reference to the seafood restaurant where the range originated. The wider alcoholic rum range includes unconventional variants such as Hemp-infused rum, reflecting a brand comfortable working outside conventional rum territory.
The 0.0% AF rum was produced using a spinning cone column, a low-temperature method of removing alcohol from a finished spirit while preserving its aromatic character. This places the brand among a small group of mainstream rum producers to have entered the AF category with a documented production technique rather than a reformulated soft drink. The Spiced 0.0% sits in the mid-range bracket and is available through specialist alcohol-free retailers and online marketplaces.
Distribution of the AF range is narrower than the core alcoholic line, which benefits from broad retail coverage. Sober-curious drinkers who favour a recognisable rum name with a documented de-alcoholisation method will find the range a practical entry point into the AF spirits category.
