Dr. Zenzen
Dr. Zenzen is a German wine house that has cultivated grapes in the Mosel wine region since 1636, now offering alcohol-free wines alongside its established range.
The house traces a family winemaking tradition of more than 380 years, with vineyards in Valwig, a village set in the hills above the river Mosel. Working with Riesling and Dornfelder grapes, Dr. Zenzen produces wines across both a conventional and an alcohol-free range. The alcohol-free wines are made by a gentle de-alcoholisation process: wine is produced at full conventional strength and the alcohol is then removed, a method that preserves the character of the underlying grape variety.
The alcohol-free range includes whites based on Riesling grapes and reds made from Dornfelder, a dark-skinned variety grown widely across Germany. The wines contain sulphites. The range is available through multiple retail channels, reaching sober-curious drinkers through specialist alcohol-free retailers and mainstream outlets alike.
As a mixed producer with centuries of winemaking behind it, Dr. Zenzen brings long-established regional knowledge to its dealcoholised wines rather than operating as a dedicated alcohol-free brand.
