Eins Zwei Zero
Eins Zwei Zero is the alcohol-free wine range from Weingut Leitz, a producer in the Rheingau region of Germany that began bottling zero-alcohol wines in 2007. The range was created by Johannes Leitz and takes its name from an existing Riesling wine in the Weingut Leitz portfolio, with "Zero" indicating the alcohol-free approach.
Dealcoholisation is carried out using vacuum distillation, a process in which reduced pressure causes alcohol to evaporate at just 28°C, well below its standard boiling point, which helps preserve the wine's fruit and aromatic character. The Riesling wines draw on grapes from young vines in the Rheingau, with fruit sourced from Rüdesheim in the sparkling styles. Pinot Blanc also features in the white wine styles, while the rosé is made from 100 per cent Pinot Noir.
The range spans still and sparkling whites alongside rosé styles, with at least one wine produced to German Sekt standards. Several formats include canned versions of the rosé and Riesling alongside bottled variants.
Eins Zwei Zero sits in the premium segment and is distributed through specialist alcohol-free retailers and mainstream retail channels, reaching sober-curious drinkers across international markets.
