Fierce
Fierce Beer is an independent Scottish craft brewery based in Aberdeen, founded in May 2016 by Dave Grant and David McHardy after both left the oil and gas industry. The founders were inspired by American West Coast brewing, and the brewery has produced alcohol-free craft beers alongside its main range for a number of years. Its first commercial brew was produced on 3 May 2016, with production based at a facility in Dyce, Aberdeen, that moved to a larger site in 2022.
Fierce Beer received a £400,000 investment from Southern Cross Beverages in September 2017. The brewery has hand brewed its beers in Aberdeen since launch.
The range spans hop-forward IPAs, clean lagers, barrel-aged imperial stouts (the imperial stout series is aged in whisky barrels), and a beer cooler range launched in 2024. The alcohol-free options are aimed at sober-curious drinkers. Fierce Beer is the official European brewer of Rush Golden Ale and Lager, and has partnered with Aberdeen Football Club on special releases, and with the Aberdeen Lynx on a vegan and gluten-free pale lager in September 2024.
Fierce Beer operates bars in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. The Aberdeen venue opened in 2018 in the heart of the city, with 20 taps and a dog-friendly policy. The Edinburgh bar opened on Rose Street in May 2019. A Manchester bar operated from September 2020 until its closure in December 2024, and the 1983 Lounge was opened in 2024. The brewery ran a community crowdfunding campaign in 2024.
Beers are exported to Europe, Canada, and the Far East, and the brewery runs the Fierce For Good Foundation.
