Fierce Hometown 0.5 is the alcohol-free counterpart to the brewery's flagship Hometown lager, sitting within Fierce's range of 0.5% variants. Rather than dealcoholising a finished beer, the production uses a specialist yeast strain that generates very little alcohol during fermentation. The hop bill pairs Saaz, associated with Czech-style pilsner bitterness, with Motueka, a New Zealand variety that introduces a more tropical dimension to the lager base.
