Firebrand Brewing Co is a Cornish craft brewery founded in 2012 by Joe Thomson in Launceston, Cornwall, producing a dedicated alcohol-free range of beers alongside its core offering from 2020.

Thomson began the brewery in a converted milking parlour on a farm on the outskirts of Launceston before relocating to a larger warehouse facility in 2021 to meet growing capacity. Thomson retains majority ownership (75% or more of shares, per the company register) and Firebrand operates as an independent regional brewery. Cornish coastal culture shapes the brand's identity from the ground up, with naming and aesthetics drawn from the surf and outdoor culture of the north Cornwall coastline.

The alcohol-free range is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts and surfers who want a genuine craft beer character alongside an active lifestyle. The beers are produced using a specialist yeast strain that does not ferment maltose, the primary fermentable sugar in wort. Because the yeast leaves maltose unfermented, very little alcohol is generated during brewing rather than being removed after fermentation. This approach differs from dealcoholisation, a process where finished beer is processed to separate out its alcohol content, and is central to how Firebrand presents its AF offering.

The AF lineup spans hazy pale ales, lagers, and hazy IPAs. Distribution runs through specialist alcohol-free retailers and direct via the brand's own online shop, keeping the range within independent craft channels. Pricing sits in the premium bracket for independent craft AF beer, consistent with the small-batch Cornish production base and the specialist channel model.
