Fluère
Fluère is a Dutch alcohol-free spirits brand, founded in 2018 and named after the Latin word for "to flow". Its founders, Léon Meijers and Alfred Sendee, created the brand after Meijers found himself in sociable situations where he didn't always want to drink.
Production is built around hydro-steam distillation, meaning each botanical is processed with steam to extract its essence, with every ingredient distilled individually. The spirits then pass through tunnel pasteurisation, which stabilises the product and gives the finished bottles a 24-month shelf life.
The botanicals in the range include juniper, lime peel, lavender, coriander seed and Mediterranean lemon peel, alongside sugar cane molasses from the Dominican Republic. A bitter style was added to the lineup in February 2023.
The brand was acquired by Lucas Bols, the Dutch spirits group, effective 1 January 2023. Fluère sells direct from its own website with worldwide free delivery, and is stocked in more than 20 countries including the Netherlands, the UK, Switzerland, France and Germany. It launched in the United States in 2020, and is aimed at those who observe Dry January and those who prefer to remain alcohol-free year-round. One of its drinks has picked up awards.
