Galipette
Galipette is a long-established French cider producer rooted in Brittany and Normandy, operating as a co-operative that brings together hundreds of apple growers across both regions.
The co-operative is the oldest of its kind in France and is run by three entrepreneurs. All ciders carry the pur jus (pure juice) designation, meaning the juice is pressed from 100% French cider apples, never diluted with water, and never made from concentrate. Production follows centuries-old north-west French traditions, using slow, wild yeast fermentation and the keeving process for clarification, with minimal intervention at every stage. Each cider is a vintage product, made once a year. The range spans seven cuvées.
Apple varieties come from orchards across Brittany and Normandy, spanning bitter, bitter-sweet, sweet, and sharp styles, with up to fifteen named varieties native to Brittany's orchards. Some apples are sourced from traditional orchards near the river Rance in Côtes-d'Armor in northern Brittany.
The alcohol-free ciders are made from 100% pure juice from the same Brittany and Normandy apple base, and are semi-sweet in character, with orchard and baked apple notes and a rich, smooth mouthfeel.
Galipette is available through multiple retail channels.
