Naked Life

Naked Life is an Australian alcohol-free RTD cocktail brand founded in Melbourne in 2016 by David Andrew, who launched the project from his kitchen bench as an experiment to reduce sugar in his own diet. Andrew, whose background traces to Samoa in Polynesia, initially brought Naked Life to market as a range of sparkling sodas before the brand evolved into the cocktail-led range it produces today. The drinks target sober-curious and mindful drinkers, and are positioned for occasions including Dry January and Sober October.

The production process centres on botanical distillation. Botanicals including juniper and orange blossom are put through a pot-distillation process, and the resulting distillates are combined with plant-based extracts to form the base of each drink. Alcohol is then separated and removed during production. Formulations use natural sweeteners derived from stevia (steviol glycosides) in place of refined sugar, alongside natural flavourings and colouring concentrates from carrot and pumpkin. Citric, malic, and ascorbic acids, pectin, and erythritol feature across the ingredient lists. Naked Life describes its approach as "no nasties", reflecting its founding aim to remove sugar and artificial additives from its products.

The brand's stated mission is to accelerate healthier lifestyles across Australia. In its home market, Naked Life holds what it describes as the number-one position among alcohol-free RTD cocktail brands in Australia, with a reported 3.5 per cent share of Australia's beer, spirit and wine market. The company recorded $6.65 million in revenue during the 2021-22 financial year and a reported annual growth rate of 331 per cent across three consecutive financial years. Distribution extends beyond Australia, with the brand exporting to markets in Asia and the Middle East across both RTD cocktail formats and alcohol-free spirits.
