Pivot Beer
Pivot Beer is a UK-based independent alcohol-free lager brand founded in 2022 by Jeremy and Mary-Anne Beeton, using arrested fermentation to keep its flagship lager below 0.5% ABV.
The family-run business launched its core lager in 2022 as a premium, specialist-channel alternative to mass-market AF options. Arrested fermentation means fermentation is stopped early, before significant alcohol has had time to develop, rather than allowing the beer to ferment to full strength and then removing the alcohol afterwards. By halting the process at the right point, the brewery preserves the flavour characteristics of the malt and hops without the additional processing steps that de-alcoholisation requires. The lager is brewed with hops and malts chosen for crispness, with the flavour profile aimed at a clean, sessionable character.
The range is deliberately narrow, with a single core product available through specialist alcohol-free retailers and the brand's own direct channel. The brand's willingness to explain its arrested-fermentation process transparently in its FAQ sets it apart from many small independents of similar scale. Pivot Beer suits the sober-curious drinker who shops for AF options with intention and wants a clearly explained, honest process behind the product.
