Ritual Zero Proof
Ritual Zero Proof is a Chicago-based alcohol-free spirits brand, founded in 2019 by three friends, Marcus Sakey, GG Sakey, and David Crooch, and now the number one spirit alternative in North America.
Development began in the founders' own kitchens: the three worked on the formulas at home, on a cutting board, before collaborating with master distillers. More than a year of recipe development preceded the brand's September 2019 launch, which arrived with gin and whiskey alternatives. From the outset, Ritual Zero Proof described itself as the first US-based alcohol-free brand built to echo the taste and aroma of spirits.
The portfolio has since expanded to cover alcohol-free alternatives across the main spirit categories, from gin, whiskey, and rum through to tequila and aperitif. The brand also produces a range of canned cocktails. All products remain good for 12 weeks after opening.
Ritual Zero Proof is headquartered at its original base in Chicago, Illinois. In its early years the brand was backed by accelerator Distill Ventures. In September 2024, it was acquired by Diageo. Two drinks in the range have won awards.
The range is aimed at cocktail enthusiasts and is a practical choice for people who are pregnant. It is available nationwide across the United States.
