Sky Wave
Sky Wave is an Oxfordshire gin and vodka distillery, established in 2018 by co-founders Rachel Hicks and Andrew Parsons, that produces small batches of never more than 500 bottles at a time.
The distillery operates at Bicester Heritage in Bicester, Oxfordshire, where it runs a boutique distillery alongside a shop and indoor bar. Parsons serves as master distiller. The co-founders drew their founding inspiration from careers that spanned BBC reporting and service as an Army officer: the idea came to them whilst celebrating their wedding anniversary by the sea, and the name blends the big skies and waves that defined their adventures. The bottle design takes its cue from a bygone era of elegance and adventure.
Sky Wave sources botanicals from specific origins: Madagascan vanilla pods, Moroccan coriander, ginger from across Asia, rhubarb from Oxfordshire growers, foraged blackberries from village hedgerows, and natural mineral water from the Blenheim Palace estate. The London Dry gins in the range have nothing added after distillation other than Oxfordshire water.
In 2023, Parsons developed an alcohol-free distilled spirit over eighteen months, extending the distillery's lineup with an AF option for drinkers who want an alternative to a gin and tonic. The spirit is distilled and built around juniper, limes, oranges, and fresh ginger.
