Tartarus

Co-founders Jack Roberts and Jordan Orpen began developing recipes at the start of 2019 and released the first commercially available Tartarus beers in August 2020. Roberts serves as head brewer and head of production. The brewery became a limited company in July 2021 and moved into its own 5,000 sq ft site in 2022, which will also become home to the brand's first taproom.

The core range concentrates on strong, adventurous styles, with the opening releases centred on Belgian and imperial-style beers. All beers are produced in small batches, with an experimental approach to ingredients and method.

Tartarus has extended this spirit into alcohol-free and low-alcohol brewing. The AF range covers stouts and IPAs; the IPAs are brewed with wheat and oats for body and left unfined and unfiltered.
