Vandestreek
Vandestreek is a Dutch craft brewery based in Utrecht that dedicates half of its production to alcohol-free beers. Brothers Sander and Ronald van de Streek founded the brewery in 2010, starting with homebrew experiments in a Kanaleneiland apartment. They debuted commercially in 2013 as gypsy brewers at the Utrechts Bierbrouwers Festival, and in 2016 both brothers moved into the business full-time. Vandestreek established its own brewery in Utrecht between 2016 and 2017 and has since grown into one of the biggest independent craft breweries in the Netherlands.
For its alcohol-free range, the brewery uses yeasts that barely convert sugars into alcohol during fermentation. Recipes draw on American hops, including Amarillo, and special malts, with dry hopping used to intensify flavour. Vandestreek created the world's first non-alcoholic Bock. The range spans alcohol-free IPAs, NEIPAs, and stouts. Two of the brand's drinks have picked up awards.
Vandestreek obtained organic certification in 2023 and pursues several sustainability practices: recyclable cans and metal kegs, solar energy, heat reuse, and nitrogen recycled from the air. A foodbar opened in Utrecht in 2022. The taproom at Ontariodreef has 16 taps and offers brewery tours at weekends; a second bar operates on the Oudegracht in the city. Products reach drinkers across over 17 countries.
