Vandestreek Playground is an alcohol-free IPA brewed in Utrecht, Netherlands, created in collaboration with a German master brewer and originally launched in March 2017 as a one-off in an innovative series of beers, and has since won awards. The process uses a unique yeast that barely converts sugars into alcohol, while special malts provide the body. Five varieties of American hops go into the brew. In the glass it is golden amber with a slight haze and a lasting white head. The aroma carries citrus, tropical fruit and pine resin. On the palate it is crisp and hoppy, with grapefruit, mango and peach alongside light malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is round and bitter, and the finish is refreshing with a balanced bitterness.
