Veldensteiner
Veldensteiner is a traditional Landbier from Franconia, Germany, introduced in 1972 by Kaiser-Bräu, a Franconian family brewery based in Neuhaus an der Pegnitz in the Nürnberger Land region. Landbier is a style of traditional countryside beer associated with a particular region, and this character has defined the brand since its launch. The name derives from Castle Veldenstein, a local landmark. The brand's alcohol-free beers make it an option for sober-curious drinkers alongside its traditional range.
Kaiser-Bräu was founded in 1929 and is privately owned by the Laus family. It is counted among the largest Bavarian breweries, producing the Veldensteiner range from its Franconian base.
The Veldensteiner label is used on the brewery's traditional bottle formats, while Kaiser-Bräu's own-named beers are bottled in slim NRW format. The brewery runs a Bierwerkstatt, an experimental programme that has produced a new limited beer each year since 2009. In the early years of this century, Kaiser-Bräu promoted Veldensteiner through radio advertisements featuring Fredl Fesl. One of the brand's drinks has picked up an award.
