Wild Idol is a UK-based alcohol-free sparkling wine brand founded in 2021 by Paul Beavis, formerly Managing Director of Champagne Lanson, targeting the luxury end of the AF sparkling wine market.

Beavis founded Wild Idol to address a gap he identified in premium hospitality: a naturally alcohol-free sparkling wine that had never undergone dealcoholisation. Rather than stripping alcohol from a fermented base, Wild Idol's production method avoids fermentation entirely. Because fermentation is the process by which yeast converts grape sugars into alcohol, bypassing it means no alcohol is created at any point and there is nothing to remove afterwards. The grapes used include Müller-Thurgau and Dornfelder, both wine-grade varieties chosen to preserve the aromatic character associated with fine sparkling wine. The range is vegan and gluten-free.

The core range is deliberately small, covering sparkling white and sparkling rosé styles. Both sit at the luxury end of the AF sparkling wine category, reflecting the founder's background in fine Champagne rather than mass-market positioning.

Wild Idol has appeared in some of the world's most prestigious hospitality venues, including Harrods, Selfridges, and The Dorchester in London, establishing its luxury credentials in the on-trade before building a wider retail presence. Retail distribution spans mainstream online grocery channels and the brand's own direct site.

Wild Idol occupies a narrow but distinct position in the AF sparkling wine category: a luxury-priced naturally made sparkling wine, produced without any dealcoholisation step, with on-trade credentials established in some of the most prestigious hospitality venues in London before reaching mainstream retail.
