New Horizons
A gluten-free 0.5% pale ale from Bristol's Arbor Ales, brewed with Azacca, Citra, Ekuanot and Mosaic hops in a distinctive 568ml pint can.
About This Drink
Arbor Ales have been brewing in Bristol since 2007, putting out a prolific range across different styles. New Horizons is their alcohol-free offering, and it shows some ambition in the hop selection: Azacca brings papaya and tropical citrus; Citra adds the grapefruit and lime character it is known for; Ekuanot contributes an earthy melon note; Mosaic ties the tropical elements together with a stone fruit and berry quality underneath. The combination leans toward the American-style pale ale template — fruit-forward, aromatic, with approachable rather than assertive bitterness. It is brewed to gluten-free standards, which puts it in a smaller subset of craft AF beers and makes it accessible to people who usually have to skip the beer round entirely. The 568ml pint can is worth noting. Most craft AF releases come in 330ml or 440ml formats, so this delivers a full pint's worth in a single serve. Available from specialist AF retailers and a handful of independent bottle shops. Not a supermarket staple.
