0.0 Lager
Spanish alcohol-free lager from Murcia, pale golden and clean, with a light malt body and a dry, crisp finish.
About This Drink
Estrella Levante is the regional beer of Murcia in south-eastern Spain, and its 0.0 is brewed with the same water, barley malt, rice and hops as the original. At 0.0% ABV it sits in the fully dealcoholised bracket rather than the merely low-alcohol one. The pour is pale golden with moderate carbonation and a thin white head. The nose is straightforward: light malt and a faint hop note, nothing emphatic. On the palate it follows the lager template closely enough — clean, light, slightly grainy — without much that distinguishes it from the dozens of Spanish 0.0% lagers in this category. The finish is dry and brief. At around 20 calories per 100ml it's one of the leaner options available, which makes it a reasonable choice if you want something cold and fizzy without much ceremony. It doesn't try to be more than it is, and for a simple, accessible alcohol-free lager from a traditional regional brewer, it does the job.
