About This Drink
JP Chenet's Free Rosé blends Grenache and Cinsault from the South of France, the same grape varieties behind many of the region's better known rosés. The alcohol is removed using a no-heat, no-chemicals process, which at least gives the aromatics a fighting chance. The result is a pale, fruit-led rosé with notes of fresh strawberry, raspberry and citrus, and a soft floral quality on the finish. It's not a Provence rosé — the texture is lighter than that, and the acidity is more obvious — but as an everyday AF pink it's easy to drink and doesn't taste medicinal or artificially sweetened. It's the kind of bottle you'd keep in the fridge for warm evenings when you want something that looks the part without requiring any explanation.
