About This Drink
Wave Breaker sits in the softer end of the hazy pale category - the hop character is present and tropical but kept restrained, making this an easy-drinking option rather than something that demands your full attention. Lost Pier describe it as "light in body but full in flavour," which is a fair characterisation. Grapefruit, orange peel and mango on the nose, with the tropical fruit following through on the palate over a soft malt base. The bitterness is low and rounded rather than sharp. It's an approachable beer: the sort of thing you could have on a weeknight without it feeling like a commitment to flavour intensity. Lost Pier are a Brighton-based brewery producing a small AF range. Wave Breaker comes in 330ml cans rather than the 440ml format used for the Bière de Boire and Nitro Stout, which is worth noting if you're comparing value. Available through Dry Drinker and other specialist AF retailers.
