About This Drink

Of Hip Pop's four flavours, Blueberry & Ginger is the most straightforwardly crowd-pleasing. Blueberry juice from concentrate gives a proper fruit flavour without tipping into artificial sweetness, and ginger brings enough heat to stop the whole thing reading as a soft drink. At 18 kcal per 100ml it is fractionally more caloric than the other three — though still well within low-calorie territory. The sugar sits at just under 3g per 100ml, no sweeteners involved. Hip Pop ferment from a base of green and black tea, which gives their range a backbone of gentle tannin that helps keep flavoured kombuchas from being cloying. Sold in 330ml cans, primarily through online channels including The Alcohol Free Co and Hip Pop's own website. Works well straight from the fridge; the carbonation settles quickly once poured so drink it promptly.
