Hip Pop started in 2019 when Emma Thackray began brewing kombucha in her Cheshire kitchen to help her partner Kenny manage IBS. The positive results turned a practical solution into a business. Originally sold as Booch & Brine at local markets, the brand rebranded to Hip Pop in 2021 when they identified a gap in functional gut-health drinks. Now based in Manchester, they sold 3.8 million cans in 2024. Their range spans classic kombucha flavours, CBD kombucha, and living sodas — all in 330ml cans. Available at Sainsbury's and specialist retailers.
