About This Drink
Anxious Drinker comes from Willy's Mother Farm in Herefordshire, the people behind one of the UK's best-known organic apple cider vinegar brands. The premise is simple: use the natural acidity, bite, and complexity of their single-estate ACV as the structural backbone of an alcohol-free aperitif. On paper the ingredient list reads like a folk remedy: Eureka lemons, turmeric, ginger, rosemary, saffron, bergamot, black pepper, and regenerative honey alongside the ACV with live mother. In practice it comes together as a layered, savoury-citrus drink with warmth and gentle spice. The vinegar bite is present but not harsh. It's unsweetened, which gives it a dryness that most aperitifs in this category lack. There's tartness, earthiness from the turmeric, and a floral note from the saffron. It's fermented and bottled at source, 100% organic, vegan, and gluten-free. Serve diluted with sparkling water or over ice; the sharpness makes it work particularly well in a long drink. Sold at around £20 for 500ml. Mixed reviews from some buyers, but those who get on with its character tend to like it a lot.
