Dawn Wall
Weekend Project's take on an alcohol-free hazy IPA, brewed with We Can Be Friends — Mosaic Cryo and Dolcita stack up candied berries, peach, and a dank resinous edge.
About This Drink
Dawn Wall came out of a collaboration between Weekend Project — a Knutsford brewery known for its hop-forward, technically accomplished beers — and We Can Be Friends, one of the UK's few dedicated alcohol-free breweries. The name is a nod to the climbing term for a route that looks blank and featureless from below but reveals its holds up close. Whether or not the metaphor lands for you, the beer makes its own case. The hop bill does the work. Mosaic Cryo is a concentrated pellet form of Mosaic, dialled up to deliver the blueberry, tropical fruit, and earthy dankness the variety is known for without the volume of vegetal matter that can muddy an AF beer. Dolcita is newer territory — a low-alpha Pacific Northwest hop with a stone fruit and candy-sweet quality that adds softness and rounds the edges. Together they produce a hazy IPA that has distinct character rather than just a generic fruity veneer. This is the Dry Drinker-listed version at 0.0% ABV. Worth picking up if you want an AF hazy with some genuine hop personality behind it.
