About This Drink
Kaineken Tikker is the lightest, most approachable beer in Õllenaut's non-alcoholic Kaineken range, brewed in Saku, Estonia. The name is a colloquial Estonian word meaning 'throbbing' or 'pulsing'. Like the rest of the lineup, it is made with a yeast developed for low-alcohol brewing rather than having alcohol removed after fermentation. It pours a clear light gold with modest carbonation. The aroma is delicate: faint gooseberry and green apple over a clean grain base. On the palate it is light and easy, with a subtle gooseberry note threading through a gentle sweetness and a soft, slightly honey-edged finish. There is not much bitterness, and not much complexity either. It is not designed to be a beer to think about. This sits at the simpler end of the Kaineken range. A good option for warmer weather or when something light and low-key is the right call.
