Orkan
Alcohol-free fruit ale from Browar Gzub, brewed with mango and passion fruit juice for a sweet-sour tropical character.
About This Drink
Orkan is a fruit-forward alcohol-free ale from Browar Gzub, brewed with added mango and passion fruit juice. It sits below 0.5% ABV, with a wort extract of 8 BLG giving it a touch more body than the lighter Bryza. The name means storm or gale in Polish, though the drink itself is considerably more gentle. It pours hazy, amber-tinged pale, with tropical fruit aromas jumping out immediately. Mango leads on the nose, with passion fruit's tart, floral edge just behind. On the palate the fruit is sweet-sour: the mango provides roundness while the maracuja adds a pleasant acidity that stops it tipping into cloying. Carbonation is moderate and lively. The finish is short and fruity, fading cleanly. Closer to a fruit soft drink than a beer in character, but honest about what it is.
