Birell is the award-winning, bestselling alcohol-free beer in the Czech Republic, brewed at the Nošovice brewery and on sale since 1992. Its development began in 1991, when workers from Radegast approached the Hürlimann brewery in Zurich to make a beer designed from the start to be alcohol-free. It goes through the same fermentation and secondary fermentation as classic Czech beers, using a yeast unique to the brand. Alongside barley and hops the recipe includes wheat. The finished lager has isotonic properties, which makes it suited to active people.
