Birell
Birell is a Czech alcohol-free beer brand originally developed at the Radegast brewery in Nošovice, now part of the Plzeňský Prazdroj portfolio and covering a broad range of flavoured radlers and fruit-infused variants.
Birell was created at the Radegast plant in the Moravian-Silesian region, a brewing site with a long history in Czech lager production. Its roots in mainstream Czech brewing give it a different character from newer craft AF beer brands: this is a label built on mass-market heritage rather than small-batch innovation. Plzeňský Prazdroj, which now owns Birell, is itself part of the Asahi Group, one of the world's larger brewing conglomerates.
The brand positions itself squarely at active lifestyle drinkers: those who play sport, drive after work, or want a cold beer without the alcohol. This practical, functional angle has driven a portfolio that now covers a wide range of flavoured and unflavoured variants, including radlers (beers blended with fruit juice) aimed at drinkers who prefer a lighter, fruitier profile.
Birell competes in the mainstream segment of the AF beer market, with the distribution reach that comes from being part of a major brewer's stable. For sober-curious drinkers and designated drivers looking for an everyday AF beer with real variety, Birell offers a straightforward Czech option at the accessible end of the category.
