DC De-Alcoholised Sauvignon Blanc NV

Darling Cellars DC De-Alcoholised Sauvignon Blanc NV is a South African dealcoholised white wine under 0.5% ABV, vinified from 100% Sauvignon Blanc from dryland coastal vines.

About This Drink

Darling Cellars DC De-Alcoholised Sauvignon Blanc NV is a South African dealcoholised white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Darling coastal region, at under 0.5% ABV. The grapes are grown on dryland bush vines without irrigation, on the cool Atlantic-influenced coast north of Cape Town. Spinning cone technology removes the alcohol at low temperature under vacuum, a method that holds onto more varietal aromatics than heat-based dealcoholisation. In the glass it pours pale straw with a faint green tinge. The nose has the sort of citrus and tropical character the grape variety tends to produce: gooseberry, lime, a hint of peach. On the palate it is clean and crisp, light-bodied, with natural residual sugar of 3.53g per 100ml providing a little softness. Vegan. This is the sort of uncomplicated, lower-calorie white that works well for moderators who want a glass with food without having to explain themselves. Available in 750ml bottles from UK specialists including Dry Drinker and Wise Bartender. Read more in the best non-alcoholic wine UK guide.
